A Rich History of Commitment

Establishment of Bertera Auto Group

Aldo M. Bertera (1937-2013) was a prominent figure in the automotive industry, known for founding the Bertera Auto Group. His journey began at a young age when he started working at his father's Texaco gas station at just 13 years old. Alongside his brother Robert, Aldo helped manage the gas station and used car operation.

In 1973, Aldo and Robertintroduced the Subaru brand to West Springfield by appending the first Bertera showroom to their Texaco station. As the business grew, they built a dedicated Subaru dealership on Riverdale Street. Their expansion continued with the addition of a Lincoln/Mercury dealership in 1982 and a Dodge store in Westfield, MA, in 1987.Aldo's long-held dream of owning a Chevrolet dealership was realized in 1997 with the purchase of Riggs Chevrolet in Palmer, MA. Under his leadership, Bertera Chevrolet thrived and became a source of pride for him.
